Job Status: Part-time, Non-Exempt SCHEDULE: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM (20 hours/week)

Summary

Provide afterschool instruction and curriculum support for school-age children in a structured program environment. This role focuses on academic enrichment, including math and reading development, while ensuring a safe, engaging, and supportive setting for children and families.

Key Responsibilities

· Deliver tutoring and homework assistance to participating students · Supervise assigned students and maintain a safe, structured classroom environment · Plan and implement daily educational and recreational activities · Assist in the development and implementation of curriculum that promotes math and reading skills · Collaborate with Program Coordinator and staff to ensure program goals are met · Maintain accurate documentation (attendance, food program, incident reports, etc.) · Communicate effectively with parents and promote program engagement · Ensure cleanliness and organization of program spaces · Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and special events · Support parent involvement through communication, newsletters, and activities · Assist with planning and execution of events such as holiday programs and open houses · Maintain confidentiality of all children, family, and program information

Qualifications

& Skills: · Strong math and reading skills · Effective written and verbal communication skills · Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team · Strong classroom management and organizational skills · Ability to engage and motivate school-age children · Professional demeanor with children, families, and staff

Physical & Work Requirements

· Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds · Ability to sit, kneel, bend, twist, and move at a child’s level · Ability to visually and auditorily supervise children in various environments (classroom, playground, field trips) · Reliable transportation and ability to travel to trainings and meetings · Valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance required

Certifications & Training Requirements

· CPR, First Aid, and Preventing Disease Transmission certification · Completion of pre-employment drug screening · Participation in required staff trainings and professional development
