SUMMARY

The Teacher Aide is an essential role in the classroom as an non-instructional aide to the lead teacher’s execution of curriculum, assist in maintaining the appropriate staff: ratio requirements, and hands on support to the students as appropriate and assigned.

Reporting relationship

TA reports directly to the classroom teacher for classroom tasks and report to the Education Director for overall program duties.

Essential duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom support by assisting with non-instructional activities, preparing and organizing educational materials, and maintaining a clean, safe, and engaging learning environment.
  • Assist children with daily living activities, including arrival and departure procedures, meals, toileting, dressing, mobility, and other physical care needs as directed by classroom staff.
  • Support teachers and skill trainers in implementing lesson plans, classroom activities, and individualized strategies that promote student growth and development.
  • Foster a positive, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive environment that supports children's social-emotional well-being and individualized needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, clinicians, family workers, and other multidisciplinary team members to ensure high-quality care and educational services.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including educational progress reports and other required records, while participating in training and professional development activities.

  • ● GED/H.S
  • 18 years of age or older
