Long Term Substitute Teacher - High School Math

Christian Heritage School [https://www.christianheritageschool.org/about-chs/employment.cfm] is a thriving academically and spiritually rigorous Christian day school located in Southern Connecticut. With almost 400 students, it is one of the largest K-12 Christian schools in the Northeast and draws students from numerous towns across the state. It has a diverse student body that comes together to grow in knowledge, faith, and character within a loving, grace-filled environment.

We are seeking a Long-Term High School Math Substitute Teacher to serve approximately from late October/early November through mid-February. The substitute teacher will maintain a safe, orderly, and positive classroom environment while the regular teacher is on leave. The successful candidate will follow established lesson plans and equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to function as mature, responsible Christians in accordance with the school's mission.

• The substitute teacher will be responsible for teaching high school mathematics courses, including:
• Geometry
• Algebra
• Pre-Calculus
• Honors and College Preparatory sections, as assigned
• Study Hall supervision and other duties as assigned

• Job Requirements
• A clear understanding and acceptance of basic Biblical principles
• An understanding of and adherence to the school’s Statement of Faith
• A love for and understanding of children and young people
• Demonstrated maturity and professionalism
• Ability to work as a team member
• Must submit to a background check

Pay Rates for Assignments • Regular

• $132/full day or $68/half day
• Long-term teaching assignments of greater than 10 days, for an absent regular teacher: $150/full days or $75/half day

• Minute): $140/full day or $70/half day

If a cancellation on the part of CHS occurs within 24 hours, the substitute will still be paid time for expected service even if service does not occur (example: teacher’s jury duty was cancelled the night before).
