Requires a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders. Must hold a current New York State SLP license or TSSLD certification.
We are seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) / Speech Teacher to provide pediatric speech and language services for Early Intervention (birth–3) and/or school-age students across home, school, and community settings on Long Island. The Speech-Language Pathologist/Speech Teacher will evaluate and treat children with speech, language, articulation, fluency, voice, social communication, and feeding or oral-motor needs as appropriate. This role focuses on functional, developmentally appropriate interventions that support communication across daily routines and academic environments. The Speech-Language Pathologist/Speech Teacher will work collaboratively with families, educators, service coordinators, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure effective and consistent service delivery. Responsibilities include: Conduct speech and language evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for EI and school-age students Provide direct speech and language therapy services in home-based EI and school-based or community settings Address articulation, expressive and receptive language, pragmatics, fluency, voice, and functional communication skills Implement evidence-based, developmentally appropriate treatment approaches Collaborate with families, teachers, and related service providers to support skill carryover Complete required documentation including evaluations, session notes, and progress reports Provide consultation and strategies to caregivers and school staff as appropriate Maintain ethical and professional standards in accordance with New York State and ASHA guidelines
Current New York State Speech-Language Pathologist license or Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) certification required Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders Pediatric experience preferred; EI and/or school-based experience a plus but not required Ability to pass required background checks and clearances Strong communication, organization, and clinical reasoning skills Ability to work independently across multiple settings while collaborating with a team Professional, reliable, flexible, and child-focused
