The Summer Camp Counselor supervises youth participants to ensure a safe and engaging environment during classes and activities. They support instructors with classroom setup and maintain a positive, inclusive atmosphere for campers.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and pass a criminal background check. Experience working with youth and strong communication skills are preferred.
The Summer Camp Counselor supports the daily operations of College for Kids by providing supervision, encouragement, and a safe, engaging environment for youth participants. Counselors work directly with campers and instructors to ensure a positive camp experience. Work is performed on the WNC Carson City campus. Counselors may work indoors and outdoors and should be prepared for active, fast-paced days. Responsibilities Supervise and monitor campers during classes, transitions, breaks, and activities Serve as a positive role model and maintain a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere Assist instructors with classroom setup, materials, and activity facilitation as needed Enforce camp rules and behavioral expectations consistently and respectfully Communicate camper concerns or incidents promptly to program staff Support check-in and check-out procedures Perform other duties as assigned by program staff
