What You'll Do: Create a Safe and Nurturing Environment
Build trusting relationships with children and families Provide consistent supervision and maintain active engagement throughout the day Ensure children's physical, emotional, and developmental needs are met Follow all Tennessee DHS licensing regulations and center policies Support Toddler Growth and Development
Implement developmentally appropriate activities aligned with Tennessee Early Learning Developmental Standards (TN-ELDS) Encourage language development, social skills, self-help skills, and emotional regulation Facilitate hands-on learning through play, exploration, music, art, movement, and sensory experiences Observe and document developmental progress Guide Positive Behavior
Use positive guidance techniques to teach appropriate behavior Help children learn problem-solving, sharing, self-regulation, and communication skills Maintain a calm, patient, and supportive classroom environment Partner with Families
Communicate daily with families regarding their child's day, milestones, and needs Build positive, professional relationships with parents and caregivers Support family engagement activities and center events Maintain Classroom Excellence
Keep classroom materials organized, clean, and inviting Complete required documentation and attendance records Follow health, sanitation, diapering, and safety procedures Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities What We're Looking For
Must be at least 18 years old High school diploma or GED Ability to pass all Tennessee DHS background requirements Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively engage with children throughout the day Reliable attendance and dependable transportation
Experience working with toddlers in a licensed child care setting CDA, TECTA, Early Childhood coursework, or related education Knowledge of child development and positive behavior support practices The Ideal Candidate Is:
