Assistant Teacher – Infant, Toddler & Preschool Classrooms

The Learning Experience – Canton is seeking a dependable and caring Assistant Teacher to support classrooms serving infants through preschool-aged children. This role helps create a safe, engaging learning environment while supporting daily classroom routines alongside Lead Teachers.

This position is ideal for someone with prior childcare experience who enjoys working with young children and contributing to a positive, team-focused early childhood education environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with daily classroom routines and learning activities Support developmentally appropriate experiences for children across age groups Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment Guide children through transitions including meals, rest time, and learning centers Support classroom preparation, activities, and lesson implementation Encourage positive social interaction and classroom participation Communicate professionally with families and teaching team members Follow Michigan childcare licensing requirements and center policies

Qualifications

Prior childcare experience required High school diploma or GED required CDA preferred but not required Strong communication and teamwork skills Reliable, nurturing, and professional approach to working with children Must meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements
