Job description

  • Reading Interventionist Teaching Matters Here Prelude Prep is a tuition-free public charter school serving students in Pre-K through 8th grade in San Antonio. We believe every child can learn to read and that strong literacy skills open doors to future success. We are looking for a Reading Interventionist who is passionate about helping students overcome reading challenges, build confidence, and make meaningful academic growth. Whether you are an experienced interventionist, classroom teacher, tutor, or literacy specialist, we are looking for someone who understands the importance of foundational reading skills and is committed to helping students succeed.   • Opportunities for growth and leadership At Prelude Prep, educators are not expected to solve problems alone. We work together to support students, families, and one another. What You'll Do As a Reading Interventionist, you will provide targeted support to students who need additional reading instruction. You will work closely with classroom teachers and families to help students build foundational literacy skills and close learning gaps. Responsibilities include:
  • Deliver small-group and individualized reading intervention
  • Provide systematic instruction in foundational literacy skills, including phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension
  • Monitor student progress and use data to adjust instruction
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to support student growth
  • Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress
  • Maintain accurate records of student intervention services and progress monitoring
  • Participate actively in coaching, planning, and professional development
  • Contribute positively to the culture and mission of the school What We're Looking For Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Experience teaching beginning readers or struggling readers

Qualifications

  • Required
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Eligibility to work in the United States Preferred
  • Experience teaching reading, literacy intervention, tutoring, or elementary education
  • Experience working with struggling readers
  • Knowledge of foundational literacy instruction and the science of reading
  • Experience using student data to drive instruction
  • Dyslexia training or certification is a plus but not required We recognize that great educators come from many different backgrounds.
