Job description

Position Summary

The Associate Teacher works with lead teachers in an assigned PreK - 3rd grade classroom to support the school's curricular goals and mission. The ideal candidate will bring a history of collaborative, self-directed work and a good sense of humor. They will also have some teaching experience and draw upon that understanding to contribute to the CHS community. This is an ideal role for someone early in their teaching career. This is a full-time, school-year position starting August 31, 2026. The responsibilities of an Associate Teacher include: Supporting the lead teacher to facilitate lessons in all subject areas Guide students in their social-emotional development, maintaining expectations and support for positive and productive student behavior Respectfully engage with families and demonstrate sensitivity to cultures, values, family configurations, and beliefs. Attend all Special Subject Classes Attend regular planning, grade level, and teacher meetings, including parent-teacher conferences Maintain open two-way communication with the lead teacher Assist with documenting student learning with photos and videos Position Requirements: Bachelor's degree 1-3 years of experience working with young children Demonstrated experience working in a culturally diverse community Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Demonstrated technology skills, familiarity with educational technology tools a plus Familiarity with the expectations of a school environment Creative problem-solving skills and a positive growth-oriented attitude The Chestnut Hill School Offers: Eligibility for health, dental, and vision care benefits.
