The School Nurse implements and manages the school health program, serving as a health advocate for students and managing acute, chronic, and emergency health issues. They are also responsible for coordinating health screenings, controlling communicable diseases, and upholding the mission and values of the Catholic school.
Candidates must be a Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in Texas with a high school diploma and certifications in CPR/AED and state-mandated screenings. Previous experience in school nursing and mental health or psychiatric nursing is preferred.

The School Nurse fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by providing general organizational support within the framework of the school’s philosophy, organization, and policies. The School Nurse is responsible for implementing the assigned school health program in a way that is best suited to the school. The School Nurse has decision making responsibilities within essential job functions, in keeping with school policies. The position is hired and evaluated by the principal.

• The Diocese, Pastors, Priests, Principals, Business Managers, and employees.
• Parishioners, diocese vendors, local, state, and federal agency representatives, and auditors.
• Infrequent travel, by car, may be required to Diocese Parishes and/or schools.
Exempt, (FT, PT or OCC), on-site. Hours align with school operating hours and may include additional responsibilities such as faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
Monday-Friday 9am-2pm 24 hours per week excluding breaks
