Deliver quality instruction in computer applications and advise students toward graduation or credential attainment. Maintain accurate student records and participate in curriculum development and college activities.
Requires a Master's degree in the subject area or a Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in the subject. Previous college teaching experience and proficiency with instructional technology are preferred.
1. Makes adequate and appropriate preparation for all teaching responsibilities. 2. Utilizes a variety of instructional methods and available instructional technology to facilitate the achievement of learning outcomes for each course assigned. 3. Attends all scheduled faculty meetings and division/departmental meetings. 4. Participates in the district-wide curriculum development process and selection of textbooks and supporting instructional material. 5. Keeps accurate records of student progress and student attendance in class and is prompt and accurate in submitting student information as required. 6. Assists in maintaining established standards of student conduct and classroom decorum; takes appropriate action when necessary, in accordance with established policy. 7. Participates in professional organizations and other activities that enhance and contribute to professional growth. 8. Supports, attends, and participates in college activities. 9. Establishes and keeps office hours in accordance with college policy. 10. Follows the established policies and procedures of the college so as to enhance the instructional program, facilitate administration, and promote student well-being. 11. Performs other duties as assigned. QualificationsMINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in the subject to be taught or a Master's degree and 18 graduate course hours in the subject to be taught. PREFERED JOB REQUIREMENTS: Previous teaching experience Previous college teaching experience Experience with electronic resources and instructional technology ENVIRONMENT AND DEMANDS: The work environment is an office/classroom setting with moderate noise. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
