School Nurse – Part-Time

Job Description

• Covenant Day seeks a part-time school nurse who serves during the ten-month academic year and works as part of a nursing team in support of the school’s mission.
• The individual in this role will support efforts to provide consistent nursing care across campus with primary focus on our lower school students.
• The school nurse provides direct professional nursing service, first aid, illness and emergency care for students.
• This includes managing medicine distribution processes and consultation and care to students.
• The nurse may also partner with other nurses on staff to conduct training programs such as first aid, CPR and other educational opportunities for faculty and staff.
• Reporting to the lead school nurse, the position is part-time, non-exempt (hourly), and will begin in August 2026 with the new school year.
• The role serves approximately twenty hours per week (likely to be worked as one full day and three half days).

• Essential Functions and Responsibilities
• Provide nursing service, first aid, illness and emergency care to students in need of these services
• Oversee the process and appropriate documentation for securing and administering student medicines during the normal school day.
• Partner with food services to ensure safety for students with allergies
• In partnership with the lead nurse, develop and implement procedures and provide for crisis intervention for emergency needs
• Use Magnus electronic charting system for student health records, and maintain training/knowledge of the system
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or Head of School
