Full-time; 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Reporting Functions: Reports to the School Principal Job Function: The teacher will develop lesson plans to meet each student's individual needs, interests, and abilities. Will design a joyful, safe, and healthy classroom that will enable learning and strive for students' success. The teacher actively instructs students, creates lesson plans, assigns and grades homework, manages students in the classroom, communicates with families, and helps students grow and understand their faith in the current school year.
Foster students' academic growth by creating an engaging and supportive learning environment. Plan, prepare, and deliver effective instruction through lesson plans, activities, projects, assignments, differentiation, and curriculum development. Assess student learning through assignments, tests, and classroom performance; maintain accurate grades, attendance, progress reports, and records. Communicate regularly with students and parents regarding academic progress, assignments, schedules, events, and individual student needs. Organize classroom instruction, prepare instructional materials, and maintain an orderly, well-equipped learning environment. Supervise students throughout the school day, including classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, bus areas, arrival/dismissal, and school events, ensuring a safe and productive environment. Manage student behavior in accordance with school policies, positively reinforce, and uphold established discipline procedures. Collaborate with colleagues and administration to support instructional goals, student achievement, and school initiatives. Utilize curriculum knowledge, educational research, and technology to support diverse learning styles and improve student outcomes. Demonstrate professionalism through ethical conduct, confidentiality, sound judgment, professional growth, and compliance with all school and Diocesan policies. Attend and participate in faculty meetings, professional development activities, school events, and community functions. Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal. Ability to handle classroom situations with fairness and patience. Able to maintain a high level of energy. Ability to respond calmly to overwhelming and difficult situations. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, a high degree of credibility, integrity, and self-confidence is essential. PRIOR TO INTERVIEW: Clear records of Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check (PATCH), Pennsylvania Child Abuse History, and Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Fingerprint Check as required under Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Act 153 of 2014 (No less than 1 year old.)
