Our Organization is working with a Michigan school district to hire a Special Education Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) services. This full-time, school-based position is well-suited for an educator who is committed to accessibility, inclusive instruction, and supporting students with hearing differences in reaching their academic and social goals.
In this role, you will provide specialized instruction and communication support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, ensuring they have equitable access to curriculum and classroom learning. You will collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, interpreters, and families to implement effective instructional strategies and accommodations that promote student engagement, independence, and confidence.
You will be responsible for developing and managing IEPs, adapting instructional materials, and monitoring student progress using data-driven practices. This position also involves supporting inclusive classroom environments, consulting with school staff, and helping students strengthen self-advocacy and communication skills across educational settings.
