Role: As an Orientation and Mobility Specialist, you’ll play a crucial role in helping students with visual impairments develop independence, access their educational environment, and achieve their goals.
Your responsibilities will include:
Develop
Individualized
Plans: Collaborate with the ARD committee to create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) focused on orientation and mobility needs.
Provide

Instruction: Teach students skills for safe and effective navigation, including cane techniques, spatial awareness, environmental assessment, and use of assistive technology such as GPS devices or low-vision aids.
Monitor
Progress: Collect and analyze data to assess student growth and adjust instructional strategies to ensure students meet their orientation and mobility goals.
Collaborate with
