Deliver assigned Surgical Technology classes and create a learning environment that helps students reach their goals. Responsibilities include developing course materials, monitoring student performance, and implementing safety procedures in labs.
Requires an associate degree in Surgical Technology, a CAAHEP-accredited certification, and a current BLS certification. Candidates must have at least five years of experience in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor within the last ten years.
A qualified faculty member teaching Surgical Technology courses meets the Surgical Technology program standard or the course standard, whichever standard applies to the specific course. ● Possesses an associate degree in Surgical Technology or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution, and ● Possesses a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by CAAHEP ● Has a minimum total of five years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both within the past ten years, and ● Possesses proficiency in instructional methodology, curriculum design, and program planning. ● Possesses a current BLS certification PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: ●College level teaching experience. ●Bachelor's degree EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area of instruction and meet faculty credentials as outlined in the ASOM 7.1 for the specific area(s) of instruction.
