The Support Teacher provides instructional and academic support to students and classroom teachers to promote student achievement and enhance the learning environment. Working collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and support staff, the Support Teacher assists with classroom instruction, intervention services, small-group instruction, and student assessments while helping to meet the diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of students. Provide instructional support to students through individual, small-group, and whole-class instruction as assigned. Collaborate with classroom teachers to plan, implement, and reinforce lessons aligned with state learning standards and school curriculum. Assist in identifying students who require academic intervention and provide targeted instructional support. Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs and abilities. Support the implementation of intervention strategies and individualized learning plans. Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of student performance and interventions. Assist with administering and scoring assessments and using student data to inform instruction. Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and academic success. Support classroom management by reinforcing school expectations and positive student behavior. Supervise students during assigned duties, including lunch, dismissal, field trips, and school activities. Collaborate with special education teachers, ENL teachers, counselors, and other support staff to ensure student success. Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, and families regarding student progress, as appropriate. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, parent conferences, and school events. Maintain confidentiality of student records and comply with all district, state, and federal policies and regulations. Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or designated administrator. Working Conditions Work is performed in classrooms and other school settings. Requires standing, walking, bending, lifting instructional materials up to 25 pounds, and actively supervising students throughout the school day. May be required to assist with extracurricular activities or other school functions.
