Exceptional Student Services (ESS) Teacher

• Exceptional Student Services (ESS) Teacher – AXL Academy AXL Academy, a PK–8 public charter school in Aurora, CO, is seeking a dedicated Exceptional Student Services (ESS) Teacher to join our team.
• This full-time, salaried position plays a vital role in supporting students with disabilities through individualized, equity-based instruction that aligns with our mission of fostering academic growth, character development, and social equity.
• Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver differentiated instruction aligned with grade-level standards and IEP goals.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices.
• Monitor student progress, adjust instructional strategies, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Contribute to a positive school culture by advocating for students and engaging in school-wide events.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and valid Colorado teaching license with Special Education endorsement (or equivalent) or willingness to enter an Alternative Licensure program CLDE certification (required for teachers hired 2021–22 or later). Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Preferred

Experience in co-teaching/inclusion models. Training in restorative practices and trauma-informed instruction. Bilingual or multilingual skills. Why Join AXL Academy?
