Lead physical education classes for all K-5 classes Work cooperatively with other physical education instructors, Classroom Co-Teachers, and School Leaders to design, plan, and implement a balanced physical education program that aligns to the mission and vision of the school and state standards in physical education Teach content and skills in physical fitness, health education, rhythms and dance, and individual, dual, or team sports Analyze, demonstrate, and explain basic skills, knowledge, and strategies of formal sports, games, rhythms, and fundamentals of body movement. Provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student and/or group of students. Provide appropriate safety instruction and make safety checks on equipment and play areas to ensure the overall safety of students. Select and order necessary equipment and supplies for physical education classes using the school’s procurement processes and predetermined budget Use student performance data to tailor and differentiate instruction Regularly communicate with families, students, and community partners Integrate the Compass CARES values into classroom culture, units of study, and interactions with staff, families, and students Integrate the real world and surrounding community into the curriculum Build and maintain positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues Maintain confidentiality with student information and records Create a positive and safe classroom culture and community COMPENSATION We offer a competitive salary and benefits package. Salary range of 68K-135K commensurate with experience and education. We are seeking a full time or part time PE Teacher. Part time salary will be prorated based on percentage of time worked. Compass is a unionized charter school.
