The Graduate Assistant will monitor the academic progress of student-athletes, facilitate study halls, and conduct mentor meetings. They are also responsible for aiding in schedule approvals and providing progress reports to coaches.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree and be admitted to or in good standing with a UA Little Rock graduate program. Experience with NCAA regulations and working with diverse student-athlete populations is preferred.

Required Education and/or Experience: Hold a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education; Regular admission to a UA Little Rock graduate degree program or good standing with the UA Little Rock Graduate School for continuing students; Ability to work the required hours (FT-50% - 20 Hours per week) with regular attendance. Preferred Education and/or Experience: Experience with NCAA rules and regulations, most specifically Progress Towards Degree; Experience working with student-athletes (personal experience as an athlete or tutor for athletes); Ability to work with diverse groups of students; Seeking a long-term career in athletics. Monitor and track student-athlete progress for Olympic teams and other teams as assigned; Meet with at-risk student-athletes to discuss class progress including grades, upcoming assignments/papers/exams; Assist students with implementing various study strategies to improve their academic skills and provide feedback and suggestions for improving after assignments, papers, and exams; Aid in reviewing class selections and degree progress for all students, and will communicate any academic or eligibility issues to a full-time staff member; Build strong, professional relationships with all students and assist in providing career counseling; While facilitating assigned study halls, the selected candidate will monitor student behavior while in study hall, making sure students are on task completing academic work and monitoring the volume of students in the academic center. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Possess excellent written and communication skills; Possess excellent computer skills (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint); Ability to work with diverse populations of faculty, staff, students, and community members; Maintain an appropriate degree of confidentiality; Exhibit problem-solving and critical thinking skills; Excellent motivational skills.
