The Assistant Coach is responsible for teaching, practice planning, and tactical strategizing for a Division I Track and Field/Cross Country program. The role also involves mentoring student-athletes, managing recruitment, and ensuring compliance with NCAA and institutional rules.
A bachelor's degree and previous Division I playing and coaching experience are required. Candidates must possess strong leadership skills and the physical ability to coach in various weather conditions and non-traditional hours.
Able to meet the physical demands of coaching Track and Field/Cross Country. Must be able to work outside in variable weather conditions, be on your feet for long periods of time and be able to travel when required. Ability to work weekends, nights and early mornings is required. Ability to perform drills in both an individual and team setting are required.
