Provide comprehensive clinical care for admitted patients and support surgical and specialty services through consultative internal medicine. Engage in the education and training of medical students and graduate medical trainees on inpatient rotations.
Requires an MD or DO degree, completion of an Internal Medicine Residency, and an unrestricted medical license from the NCMB. Candidates must be ABIM board certified or eligible.
Hospitalists will engage in direct patient care activities and medical/clinical practice as the principal component of his/her overall professional responsibility within the Department. Patient care activities will include, but are not be limited to the following:
MD or DO graduate from an accredited medical school program and completion Internal Medicine Residency.
Unrestricted medical license issued by NCMB. Federal and State DEA with unrestricted prescriptive authority
Certification: ABIM (ABIM board eligible recent or pending graduates may also apply)
Training experiences as mandated by the ABIM for board eligibility are required. Clinical and teaching experience in an inpatient healthcare environment including experience in both large academic medical center and community hospital environments is preferred but will consider new graduate.
Technical - Clinical training and skills as mandated by the American Board of Internal Medicine for General Internal Medicine physicians Non-Technical - Ability to work with others i n a cooperative, collaborative manner. Strong written and oral communication skills For clinician educators - strong clinical teaching skills.
