The Substitute Teacher provides educational, social, and emotional development for students by following program standards during the regular teacher's absence. Responsibilities include maintaining efficient classroom management and ensuring the safety of children and equipment.
A minimum of a high school diploma is required, while an associate or bachelor's degree in early childhood education is preferred. Candidates should ideally have two years of early childhood experience and be willing to obtain a CDA if working 30+ hours weekly.

The Substitute Teacher plays an essential role in the classroom by providing educational, social, and emotional development for all students by following the program standards of Educare of Omaha, Early Head Start, Sixpence, Nebraska Department of Education, and NAEYC. The Substitute Teacher enhances student learning during the period of absence of the regular classroom teacher. The Substitute Teacher is responsible for maintaining the program’s educational requirement as well as meeting the children’s individual needs.
