Position Overview Discovery Kidzone is seeking a Part-Time to Full-Time Classroom Specialist / Floater Teacher to support classrooms throughout our center. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children of different age groups, values teamwork, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The Classroom Specialist plays an important role in maintaining smooth classroom operations by assisting teachers, supporting daily routines, and helping provide a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children.
Provide classroom support throughout the center as needed Assist with classroom transitions, teacher breaks, and schedule coverage Support daily care routines including diapering and toilet learning when appropriate Engage children in age-appropriate activities including storytelling, games, music, crafts, and hands-on learning Encourage positive social interactions and help guide conflict resolution Assist with classroom curriculum and daily learning activities Supervise children during indoor play, outdoor play, meals, naps, and transitions Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment Collaborate with teachers and leadership team members to support classroom needs Communicate professionally with coworkers and families when appropriate
Must be at least 16 years old CPR and First Aid certification required within 30 days of hire Previous childcare experience is helpful but not required Ability to adapt comfortably between multiple classrooms and age groups Strong communication and teamwork skills Patient, dependable, and organized approach to working with children Understanding of classroom safety and sanitation practices Willingness to complete required state trainings and licensing requirements
