The Special Education Teacher is responsible for developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and delivering tailored instruction to students. They must collaborate with parents, educators, and specialists while monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate records.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education and a valid state teaching license. Preferred qualifications include over one year of school-based experience and a fingerprint background clearance.

Collaborate with parents, educators, and specialists to ensure a comprehensive approach to student learning and support. Monitor student progress and adapt instructional strategies to improve outcomes. Maintain accurate records of student performance, behavior, and progress to inform ongoing instruction and planning. Create a welcoming, safe, and productive classroom environment that encourages positive behavior and learning. Provide guidance and support to classroom staff in implementing educational strategies for students with special needs. Teaching Certification, Bachelors or Masters Degree or higher in Special Education State License as as SPED teacher 1+ years of experience in a school setting preferred Experience working with children Organizational and time management skills Proficient in use of technology Fingerprint background clearance Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications Physical Requirements Working and playing with students requires that employees must be able to perform the necessary physical movement functions, as needed, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities, while adhering to the duties outlined by the district.
