The Graduate Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach in the daily operations of the men's basketball program. Key duties include organizing team travel, assisting with recruiting, and managing administrative tasks such as equipment purchasing and academic progress supervision.
A bachelor's degree is required for this position. Candidates must also align with the university's Christian mission, core values, and biblical model.
The responsibilities of this position are restricted and defined by NCAA rules and guidelines, as well as the NGU student policies and conduct expectations. Duties include, but are not limited to: Organizing team travel arrangements, holiday housing and meals for all student athletes. Assisting with on-campus recruiting within NCAA guidelines for prospective student athletes. Film exchange per Conference Carolinas and NCAA guidelines. Assisting with purchases of all equipment including uniforms, office supplies, audio visual. Assisting in supervision of team academic progress. Day-to-day office management and working with facilities scheduling. Liaison between the Strength and Conditioning staff and the men’s basketball program. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Mobility and ability to lift equipment or other items of 50 pounds. Hearing well enough to communicate with students and co-workers. Visual ability to drive, read, and use a computer. Cognitive/Emotional ability to think critically and concentrate. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: The position is a part-time position in Athletics. The Graduate Assistant Coach for Men’s Basketball will report directly to the Head Coach of the program. WORK SCHEDULE: The Graduate Assistant Coach for Men’s Basketball is required to maintain normal office hours, attend all men’s basketball games and events, and attend required meetings. TRAVEL: Travel is required for some athletic events, conferences, and other required meetings.
