About the role

Support the Head Start Teacher in creating a learning environment that sparks curiosity and independence in young children. Responsibilities include food preparation, recordkeeping, health activities, and ensuring child safety during transportation.

Job Status: TEMPORARY Full-time (32 hours p/week), 3 months LOCATION: Willmar, MN

Help create an amazing learning environment for young children! As a Head Start Classroom Support, you’ll work side by side with our Head Start Teacher to spark curiosity, build independence, and inspire little learners—all while supporting parents to become their child’s greatest advocate.

  • Organized: Keep everything running smoothly with accurate and up-to-date recordkeeping.

  • Twist: Bring energy and creativity to health and nutrition activities that inspire kids to make healthier choices.
  • Pitch In: Help out with light janitorial duties when necessary - teamwork makes the dream work.
  • Promote the
  • Program: Support recruitment and enrollment efforts to spread the word about Head Start.
  • Prioritize
  • Safety: Monitor children on the Head Start bus and help maintain a safe environment during transportation to and from the center.

Education and experience

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High school diploma/GED and/or relevant experience.
  • CPR and First Aid Certified - or ready to get certified.
  • Food Safety Certification - or the willingness to get certified within 3 months.
