About the role

The specialist coordinates and instructs critical care level classes, managing the scheduling, preparation, and delivery of advanced education. They are also responsible for maintaining equipment and participating in education quality assurance and course improvement.

Regions Hospital EMS Education is looking for a part time Critical Care Education Specialist.

The Critical Care Education Specialist will act as a coordinator and instructor for critical care level classes provided through Regions Hospital EMS. This position is responsible for facilitating the scheduling, preparation, and delivery of critical care and advanced level education. Responsibilities will include preparing pre-class and post class materials; sharing this information with other instructors; preparing, replacing and maintaining equipment; encouraging, mentoring and managing students and assistant instructors in a professional manner; and instructing students in didactic and practical education according to course and/or Regions Hospital EMS guidelines. The EMS education specialist will take an active role in education quality assurance and course improvement activities.

Minimum Qualifications

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:

  • Associates degree in any field
  • Work experience in a hospital or prehospital critical care setting
  • Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
  • Current Minnesota nurse licensure
  • OR-
  • NREMT and Minnesota Paramedic licensure
  • Valid driver’s license and maintenance of a clean driving record in accordance with Regions Hospital standards and policies

Requirements

Candidates must have an associate degree and experience in a hospital or prehospital critical care setting. Required licensure includes either a Minnesota nurse license or NREMT and Minnesota Paramedic licensure, along with a valid driver's license.
