We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our Maryland‑approved nonpublic school serving students with diverse and intensive learning needs. This role is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a setting where relationships matter, progress is celebrated, and teachers are supported.

Position Summary

The Special Education Teacher provides high‑quality, individualized instruction to students with disabilities in a structured, supportive nonpublic school environment. This role ensures instruction aligns with IEP goals, Maryland College and Career Ready Standards, COMAR regulations, and MSDE nonpublic school requirements. Teachers collaborate closely with clinical, behavioral, and academic teams to create safe, engaging classrooms where students can thrive academically, socially, and behaviorally. What You’ll Do Deliver differentiated instruction aligned to IEP goals and state standards Design engaging lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to diverse learners Implement accommodations, modifications, and specialized instructional strategies Apply and support Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and schoolwide behavior systems Maintain accurate academic, behavioral, and compliance documentation (MSDE/COMAR) Conduct ongoing assessment and progress monitoring to guide instruction Participate in IEP meetings, progress reviews, and multidisciplinary team meetings Collaborate closely with clinical, behavioral, and educational staff Communicate effectively with families, LEAs, and internal teams Create and maintain a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment Engage in professional development and apply evidence‑based best practices QualificationsWho You Are A student‑centered educator who believes all students are capable of growth Skilled at adapting instruction and managing complex classroom needs Collaborative, reflective, and solution‑focused Organized, detail‑oriented, and confident with documentation and compliance Calm, consistent, and relationship‑driven—especially in challenging moments Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Education required; Master’s degree preferred Valid Maryland Educator License in Special Education Knowledge of IDEA, COMAR, and MSDE nonpublic school expectations Experience working with students with emotional disabilities, autism, or intensive needs preferred Core Competencies Instructional Expertise Classroom & Behavior Management Collaboration & Communication Adaptability & Problem Solving Documentation & Compliance Student‑Centered Practice Preferred Experience & Skills Background in nonpublic or therapeutic school settings Trauma‑informed and restorative practices Strong organization and time‑management skills Experience writing IEP goals and objectives Ability to build strong, supportive relationships with students Why Join Us Mission‑driven work that makes an impact every day Strong interdisciplinary team support Ongoing professional development and growth opportunities A school culture rooted in respect, structure, and progress NCIA offers a strong and competitive benefits package, including: Health, dental & vision insurance Health Savings Account with employer contributions 403(b) retirement plan with employer match Generous time off, paid holidays, and winter break Tuition assistance & professional development support Free parking & a supportive school culture Salary range of 60- 70 K commensurate with experience and active MSDE license. Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Education and a valid Maryland Educator License in Special Education. Experience working with students with emotional disabilities, autism, or intensive needs is preferred.
