Administrative Assistant Pay Range

$18 - $19.75 per hour Lancaster, MA RFK Community Alliance has an exciting opportunity for a full-time position to join as our Administrative Assistant in Lancaster, MA. Who We Seek The Administrative Assistant supports the daily operations of the school by performing a wide range of administrative and clerical duties. This role is essential in ensuring smooth communication between staff, families, and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of discretion, organization, and a strong understanding of the needs and sensitivities related to working in a special education setting.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for parents and visitors, providing a welcoming and professional presence.
  • Maintain electronic student records.
  • Prepare and distribute correspondence, meeting agendas, and reports.
  • Assist in data entry and documentation for compliance, audits, and reporting to district and state agencies.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail, phone calls, and emails in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support the enrollment process and student transitions within established workflow.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the leadership team.

Qualifications* required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google, and information systems/databases.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.

Preferred

Experience working with diverse populations and families, as well as local district contacts.

Experience in an administrative support role, preferably in an educational or special education setting.

Familiarity with special education terminology, documentation, and processes.

Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business administration, education, or a related field

Working conditions

Work is performed in a school office setting.

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and use a computer for extended periods.

May occasionally be required to lift materials up to 25 pounds.

Interaction with students who may have complex emotional or behavioral needs may occur
