Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is hiring a School-Based Therapist (LICSW or LMHC) for a full-time behavioral health opportunity in Littleton, New Hampshire. This position offers meaningful work with children and families, a stable Monday-through-Friday schedule, protected administrative time, and the opportunity to provide both school-based and outpatient behavioral health services.

The therapist will provide behavioral health services to K–12 students in area schools while also maintaining an outpatient caseload. During summer break, the therapist transitions to a full-time outpatient clinic schedule, providing consistent year-round employment and hours.

Position overview

This role combines school-based behavioral health with outpatient clinical care. Responsibilities may shift between the two settings based on organizational needs, providing the therapist with an opportunity to work closely with students, families, schools, healthcare providers, and a collaborative behavioral health team.

  • Schedule

  • Monday–Friday Schedule
  • Scheduling Flexibility
  • 32 Hours of Direct Patient Care per Week
  • 8 Hours of Protected Administrative Time per Week
  • School-Based and Outpatient Responsibilities During the School Year

School-Based behavioral health

  • The position requires a collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively with:
  • Students
  • Parents and Families
  • School Personnel
  • Behavioral Health Team Members
  • Healthcare Providers
  • Other Community Partners Involved in Patient Care

Outpatient behavioral health

In addition to school-based responsibilities, the therapist will maintain an outpatient caseload. During summer break, responsibilities transition to full-time outpatient clinical care, providing year-round stability rather than limiting employment to the academic calendar.

Protected administrative time

The approximately 40-hour workweek includes 32 hours of direct patient care and 8 hours of protected administrative time. This dedicated administrative time provides scheduled capacity for clinical documentation, care coordination, communication, and other responsibilities outside of direct patient sessions.

New graduates welcome

Both experienced therapists and new graduates are encouraged to apply. The employer is looking for clinicians who enjoy working with children and adolescents, value collaboration, and want to provide relationship-based behavioral healthcare within a supportive, mission-driven environment.

License note

Unlike roles where state licensure may be obtained after application, the supplied posting specifically states that the candidate holds an active New Hampshire LICSW or LMHC license. Treat active NH LICSW or LMHC licensure as a strict requirement unless the client provides different guidance.

Experience note

Prior years of professional therapist experience are NOT required by the supplied posting. The employer specifically encourages both new graduates and experienced therapists to apply. Do not reject an appropriately licensed new graduate because they lack several years of post-licensure experience.

Population note

Candidates should genuinely want to work with children and adolescents. The position provides behavioral health services to K–12 students and requires collaboration with schools and families.

Setting note

This is not exclusively a school-year position. The therapist maintains an outpatient caseload and transitions to full-time outpatient clinical care during summer break.

Not ready to apply? If you are an LICSW or LMHC interested in meaningful work with children and families in Northern New Hampshire, call or text Elizabeth directly at 272-230-3157.
