Pima Medical Institute is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Practical Nursing (LPN) program as a Part‑Time Instructor. This role is ideal for an RN who wants to blend clinical expertise with meaningful academic impact while maintaining a flexible weekday schedule.
You will support student learning across classroom, skills‑lab, and clinical environments, helping future LPNs build confidence, competence, and readiness for real‑world practice. Teaching hours are structured in 4‑ or 5‑hour blocks, Monday through Thursday, with no weekends, holidays, or on‑call responsibilities.
What you’ll do
Provide Didactic & Clinical Instruction — Deliver classroom, skills‑lab, and clinical learning experiences.
Develop & Deliver Lesson Plans — Teach using approved course syllabi, objectives, and outlines.
Support Program Development — Collaborate with the Program Director to implement and evaluate the program of learning.
Interview & Counsel Applicants — Participate in applicant interviews and provide academic guidance.
Coordinate & Evaluate Faculty Instruction — Plan, monitor, and evaluate instruction delivered by ANIP and clinical faculty.
Maintain Student Records — Track academic progress and maintain accurate documentation.
Provide Academic Counseling — Meet regularly with students to offer feedback and support.
Manage Skills Lab — Oversee skills‑lab inventory, equipment, and readiness.
Recommend Equipment & Software — Identify tools that enhance teaching and learning.
Coordinate Student Activities — Support student engagement and program events.
Supervise Students — Ensure safe and effective learning environments.
Mentor New Faculty — Orient and support incoming instructors.
Maintain Clinical Partnerships — Build strong working relationships with clinical site representatives.
Align Didactic & Clinical Learning — Ensure continuity between classroom objectives and clinical experiences.
Additional responsibilities
Maintain communication with Program and Clinical Directors.
Participate in campus activities, faculty meetings, in‑services, and professional organizations.
Support accreditation and program evaluation processes.
Assist with scheduling clinical rotations and skills‑lab hours.
Use campus and corporate reporting systems appropriately.
Minimum requirements
Master’s degree or baccalaureate degree, if no less than half of current faculty have, at minimum a master’s degree, with a major in nursing, from a Nursing Education Program with a national nursing accreditation.
Three (3) years occupational (i.e., practical) experience as a nurse providing direct patient care.
Current Colorado RN license and any other credential as required by local, state and/or federal laws to work as a Registered Nurse in Colorado.
Verbal and written communications skills.
Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and computer skills.
Candidates must hold a Master's or Baccalaureate degree in nursing and possess a current Colorado RN license. A minimum of three years of occupational experience in direct patient care is required.
