Description Louisiana Key Academy Caddo School for dyslexic children seeks highly motivated educators willing to train in evidence-based practices for dyslexia education. The school offers a unique opportunity for certified teacher to specialize and work towards further certification as a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) while earning competitive wages and benefits.

Requirements

A strong desire to receive rigorous, ongoing professional training in order to comprehend the unique challenges of dyslexic students and to acquire specialized instructional skills needed to help them succeed socially and academically Strong writing and editing skills An open-minded attitude toward academic instruction, including a willingness to “work outside the box” of traditional instructional methods A willingness to receive and implement feedback regarding instructional practices Evidence of strong classroom management and organizational skills Willingness to participate in highly collaborative lesson planning and teaching situations Evidence of individualized, interactive teaching philosophy Must be able to train at the Dyslexia Resource Center while teaching to obtain additional certification in Dyslexia Education (paid by LKA)
