As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Joshua Tree, CA Details: In-Person Tutoring in Joshua Tree, CA Schedule: 18-43 hours per month, 3-5 sessions a week for 1.5 hours Rate ranges from $25-35 per hour Ideal Candidate: English/Spanish bilingual tutor required Experience working with students with Autism and/or students receiving Special Education services Comfortable supporting elementary-aged siblings with different academic and communication needs Strong background in foundational literacy, early reading, writing, and math instruction Experience supporting expressive and receptive language development is highly preferred Patient, encouraging, and comfortable using repetition, modeling, and positive reinforcement Skilled in hands-on, visual, and multisensory teaching strategies Able to differentiate instruction based on each student's individual skill level Comfortable supporting students who may have limited or developing verbal communication skills Strong rapport-building skills and ability to create a structured, predictable learning environment Able to incorporate student interests into lessons to maintain motivation and engagement Key Responsibilities: Provide individualized academic instruction to two siblings with Autism at different developmental and academic levels Support foundational literacy skills including phonics, letter recognition, decoding, sight words, early reading, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension Provide writing support including letter formation, handwriting, spelling, sentence construction, and written expression Reinforce foundational math skills such as number recognition, counting, number sense, addition, subtraction, place value, patterns, shapes, and simple word problems Support language and communication development through vocabulary building, answering questions, following directions, expressive language, and functional communication Use visual supports, modeling, repetition, hands-on activities, and multisensory strategies to reinforce learning Adapt instruction to each sibling's individual academic, developmental, and communication needs Provide structured opportunities for conversation, communication, and expressive language practice during academic activities Incorporate interests such as art, crafts, imaginative play, cats, stories, cars, and Legos to increase engagement Reinforce skills addressed through each student's IEP and existing school-based services Maintain a patient, supportive, and consistent learning environment that promotes confidence, independence, and academic growth Monitor progress and adjust instruction to ensure both students receive appropriately differentiated support Why Tutor Me Education?
