Accessible Document Specialist

The specialist will receive and evaluate requests for course reading accommodations, determining the necessary remediation strategy in collaboration with the office of disability services and faculty. Responsibilities include sourcing materials, remediating them to meet accessibility standards, and managing vendor interactions for complex needs.

Candidates must possess a minimum of three years of professional experience authoring accessible documents and a complete understanding of best practices, including writing meaningful alternative text for various media types. Required technical experience includes using screen readers and common remediation tools like adobe acrobat or abbyy finereader.
