Core responsibilities
The special education teacher plans and provides appropriate learning experiences for students with disabilities according to their individual education programs (Ieps). They create a flexible program that allows students to benefit from the general education curriculum with necessary supports.
Requirements summary
A bachelor’s degree in special education and a current indiana teaching certification in special education-Mild and/Or intense intervention are required. Candidates should also demonstrate knowledge of federal, state, and local mandates governing special education services.
