- Assures compliance with the scope of work, HRSA guidance, and serves as a Training Coordinator for all activities planned by the project, including needs assessment, data collection, and programming for all projects, including: Core, Minority AIDS Initiative, CDC, Inter-Professional Education, Practice Transformation, Ending the HIV Epidemic and COVID-19.
- SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY: Involves no responsibility or authority for the direction of others.
- NATURE AND SCOPE: Internal contacts include executives, administrators and employees from all divisions and departments within the university structure.
- External contacts include auditors, representatives from federal, state and local regulatory agencies and vendors.
- PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Monitor evaluate and record training activities and program effectiveness.
- Setup and coordinate HIV-related topic training programs to help DC Metropolitan healthcare professionals maintain or improve job skills.
- Assess training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, focus groups, or consultation with managers, instructors or customer representatives.
- Develop alternative training methods if expected improvements are not seen.
- Organize and develop, or obtain, training procedure manuals and guides and course materials such as handouts and visual materials.
- Organizing and facilitating monthly video conference calls, in person meetings, training events Present information, using a variety of instructional techniques and formats such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos and lectures.
- Evaluate training materials prepared by trainers/ subject matter experts such as outlines, text, and handouts.
- Design, plan, organize and direct orientation and training for employees or customers of industrial or commercial establishment.
- Monitor training costs to ensure budget is not exceeded and prepare budget reports to justify expenditures.
- Select and assign instructors to conduct training.
- Works with subcontractors to ensure the programs are developed that identify training needs, and effectively reach targeted audience and enhance the quality of education.
- Manages the certification process for continuing education credits for the designated professions.
- Increases the center’s participation in collaborative efforts among varied professional organizations, pharmaceuticals, community-based organization, professional schools and state and local government agencies.
- Participates in all conferences and communications to subcontracts.
- Supports the efforts of the department in organizing, maintaining and appropriate documentation to the Department Chair and Associate Dean of the school or department.
- Maintaining files for the various MidAtlantic AIDS Education and Training Center projects and helping organize all required documentation to and from our funders and regional partner sites.
- Meets Program Quarterly goals and creates reports for internal staff regarding programmatic activities.
- Create training schedules for all programs, track and create reports on outcomes of all training and maintain training records for the department.
- Attend seminars and meetings to learn new training methods and techniques and use the knowledge to prepare and coordinate future training sessions.
- Recruit new speakers.
- Prepare and submit speaker contracts to the Regional Coordinator.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with community-based agencies, local, and state government.
- Prepare and submit monthly reports on projects outcome and related activities.
- Enter all technical assistance and activities in the database.
- Provide customized coaching at the clinical site (e.g., CIDMAR) by working with the site to identify site‐specific needs and opportunities, prioritizing areas of focus, and identifying available and needed resources.
- Address barriers to effective implementation of improvement processes; propose solutions for practices/health centers to consider in addressing barriers.
- Advise individual clinical sites on the implementation of the interventions and measures, sharing specific best practice examples.
- Serve as an active member of a practice transformation learning collaborative group.
- Interact and collaborate with other practice coaches and planning groups.
- Receive training on practice coaching and the interventions and tools for site implementation.
- Ensure implementation fidelity.
- Transparently share challenges and barriers regarding site implementation and share solutions for effectively implementing the interventions.
- Work within the learning collaborative group to further refine the interventions, measures, and associated tools.
- Research and develop innovative ideas for future spread of best practices.
- Create and/or assist in the creation of materials and presentations and assist with logistical coordination of training events.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- CORE COMPETENCIES: Knowledge of the principles and procedures related to HIV education and training.
- Ability to develop curriculum for programs.
- Ability to use standard office equipment, which includes a computer and projector.
- Ability to analyze and develop action plans in resolving and/or implementing organizational and operational problems, issues and goals.
- Competence in both oral and written English to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious work relations with faculty, staff, students and customers.
