We’re seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist who shares our goal: to get all our scholars to and through college. Who You Are: You're a warm, dedicated Speech Pathologist who lights up at the chance to help kids find their voice – literally! You believe communication is key to confidence, connection, and classroom success. You bring creativity, patience, and a playful spirit to your work, using everything from direct instruction to hands-on projects to keep students engaged and developing. You're committed to helping our scholars achieve their goals through care and compassion. What You’ll Do: Speech Screenings Conduct observations and screenings for students with potential speech concerns. IEP Meetings & Documentation Assess IEP goals monthly and submit progress reports. Submit teacher reports highlighting student strengths and needs. Complete the Related Services section and goals in SESIS prior to IEP meetings. Communication & Collaboration Maintain open communication with families and address questions as they arise. Collaborate with teammates – sharing insights and providing support. Share screening results and next steps with families in a supportive manner. Celebrate student growth and progress consistently. Instructional Excellence Submit weekly, data-driven lesson plans to the School Psychologist. Upload student work weekly and track service attendance. Deliver engaging, differentiated sessions tailored to student needs. Use data to inform instruction and guide students’ progress.

Schedule

  • Monday –
  • Friday, 7:40am – 4:00pm 10-month school year with optional summer work available for additional pay Master’s degree in a related area (e.g., Speech Pathology) from an accredited college/university Valid NYS Speech-Language Pathology license (must hold CCC-SLP and either TSSLD or TSHH certification) Minimum of two years of professional

SLPs receive a personal laptop; bi-weekly professional development workshops; access to evidence-based curricula and therapy tools; and the collaborative support of a multidisciplinary team including academic coaches, deans, SPED professionals, and mental health staff. Our SLPs are encouraged to participate in continued education and are supported in obtaining specialized certifications relevant to school-based practice. Harlem Children's Zone does not provide work visas for candidates who require employer sponsorship for work authorization in the United States.
