Core responsibilities
This role supports teachers by assisting students struggling with focus in the classroom and supervising them during transitions and in the anchor room, where reflection on behavior management occurs. The specialist also monitors student assignments, provides instructional assistance, and refers serious behavior problems to the school administrator.
Requirements summary
Candidates must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and work cooperatively. Eligibility requires at least 60 college hours or an associate’s degree or higher, with prior experience as a teacher, assistant, or paraprofessional being preferred.
