Job description
Catholic Charities, is seeking mission-driven candidates to join our Help Me Grow Program as a Home Visitor. In this role you will work with pregnant mothers, caregivers and their children (0-5) to promote healthy child development and positive interactions between caregiver and child. This position is responsible for engaging families who have been referred to the program; completing home visits, conduct screening, facilitate parenting education and making referrals to other resources. Qualified candidates must have a minimum of a High School Diploma and a valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Program Statement
- Ashland/Wayne Help Me Grow Home Visiting Program is a voluntary program that gives pregnant women and families the necessary resources and skills to raise children who are physically, socially, and emotionally healthy to learn. The goals of the program are to:
- Improve maternal and child health.
- Prevent child abuse and neglect.
- Encourage positive parenting; and
- Promote child development and school readiness.
Responsibilities
- Complete required Home Visitor credential certificate training. Provided by Catholic Charities.
- Build relationships with families to assess their strengths and needs. Connect families to community resources.
- Participate in ongoing recruitment outreach activities and events to promote programming and engagement of families.
- Accurately document in a state-wide database of services provided including billing.
- Regularly attend professional development trainings and meetings.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- 2 years related professional experience.
- Must be certified as a Home Visitor by the Department of Children and Youth within1 month from date of hire.
- Must have good oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be well organized, detail oriented, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Good working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software.
- Must be able to form good working relationships with various resources.
- Ability to work with diverse client population, community organizations as well as staff at all levels.
- Knowledge of relevant community resources preferred.
- Must have valid Ohio Drivers License and reliable means of transportation for local travel.
- Final applicant is required to be fingerprinted to complete background check.
