Job Summary SchoolHouse Staffing is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher / Diverse Learner Teacher to support students in an in-person school setting in Chicago, Illinois. This full-time role serves students in grades K–8 and focuses primarily on reading fluency, reading comprehension, foundational math skills, and academic intervention. Key Responsibilities Provide specialized instruction and academic support to students with IEPs Support a caseload of approximately 20 students Deliver targeted instruction in reading fluency, reading comprehension, foundational math, and study skills Pull students individually or in small groups based on service needs Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, and school leadership Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and accommodations Maintain accurate documentation, progress monitoring, and compliance records Communicate effectively with families and school staff regarding student progress Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment Required Qualifications An active Illinois LBS1 license is required Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field Experience supporting students with disabilities in a school setting Strong knowledge of IEP implementation and progress monitoring Ability to provide instruction in both pull-out and small-group settings Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
