Teachers deliver high-quality synchronous and asynchronous instruction aligned to curriculum and state standards, while also providing differentiated support and collaborating within the MTSS/RTI model for interventions. They are responsible for building strong relationships with students and families, using assessment data to drive learning, and maintaining accurate academic records.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in the content area or related field and hold or be able to obtain a Georgia Clearance Certificate for Middle Grades Language Arts (4-8) or English (6-12). Requirements include strong technology skills, excellent communication, high organization, a student/family-focused approach, and willingness to travel statewide for required in-person events.
Georgia Connections Academy is a tuition-free, full-time virtual school for students in grades K-12 throughout Georgia. The school is authorized by the Georgia Charter Schools Commission and governed by an independent Board of Directors, with a mission to maximize academic achievement for students who are seeking other academic options. Working from the Duluth, Georgia, office and from your home office within Georgia, certified teachers at Georgia Connections Academy support and motivate students through high-quality virtual instruction using the Pearson Online Classroom. Teachers deliver synchronous and asynchronous instruction, provide intervention and enrichment, engage families, and use data to drive student learning and growth.
Teachers may also be required to support virtual administration of assessments, as scheduled by the school.
