The High Quality Substitute supervises children aged 0-17, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and well-being while maintaining a clean environment aligned with trauma-informed care principles. Responsibilities include collaborating with staff on age-appropriate activities, meal service, documentation, and assisting in various program settings as directed.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and successfully complete an agency-approved training course, along with current Pediatric CPR & First Aid Certification. Desirable qualifications include fluency in English and Spanish, basic computer skills, and a State of Texas vehicle operator's license.

1. Responsible for coordinating age appropriate children’s activities and/or curriculum. Provide direct support for children with identified or suspected special needs; and provide assistance to ensure children's’ individual special needs are being met to include, but not limited to, feeding, toileting, mobility, behavior support and any other personal needs the child requires by accessing supervisor/coaching support for meeting needs appropriately. Ensure that children with special needs are included in the activities to the maximum extent possible.
1. Responsible for providing a variety of support and service to the site and/or center to include, but not limited to, food preparation, meal distribution, after meal clean up, sanitizing toys and table tops, general center clean up, greeting of visitors and parents, clerical assistance, answering phones, light computer data entry, etc.
1. Support client activities as assigned, such as scheduling & documenting appointments, registering clients for educational & preventive services workshops/activities and data entry while adhering to agency and contractual requirements pertaining to service recipient contact, recruitment, assessments, educational service plans, pre and post testing requirements, evaluation of client progress, service documentation and timely completion of the educational service plan and follow all case closure requirements. 2. Follow all directives given by supervisors in accordance with agency and partner guidelines; and follow all guidelines, and policies and procedures as set forth by Head Start, licensing, and the agency, as applicable.
1. Attend agency, program and partner staff meetings and/or trainings as required.

Basic Computer/Mobile Device Knowledge and Skills (desirable). 7. Staff will be required to submit proof of their vaccination status or may request to be exempt from vaccination due to a religious and/or medical accommodation. 8. Certificate or license, as applicable, by the appropriate State agency as a qualified practitioner. 9. State of Texas vehicle operator’s license and proof of liability insurance (desirable).
