The Student Employee for the Program Improvement Team in the Technical Careers Division at Lansing Community College plays a key role in supporting recruitment, retention, and promotional initiatives at West Campus. This position involves giving tours of the West Campus and its programs, assisting with planning and executing student-focused events, and engaging in outreach efforts such as making phone calls and sending emails to prospective and current students. The student employee will also help coordinate group visits and provide general clerical and technical support for the Program Improvement Team. Responsibilities include maintaining and updating the tour tracking spreadsheet, organizing and preparing information folders for distribution, keeping promotional materials such as brochure racks stocked and orderly, and maintaining swag inventory. In addition, the student employee will fulfill requests for program information packets, maintain current and organized files for student and faculty materials, and support various special projects as needed. They will be expected to provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting visitors to the Technical Careers Division office, answering phones, routing calls, and taking detailed messages. Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail are essential in this role. The position offers valuable experience in administrative work, event planning, public engagement, and technical support, all while contributing to the success of the Technical Careers Division. Other duties may be assigned as needed to support team goals and campus initiatives.
Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.
