Job description

The OB Diabetes Educator / OB-GYN RN Coordinator provides nursing support across three outpatient OB/GYN practices. The Diabetes Educator responsibilities (60%) cover all outpatient OB/GYN locations—Redwood, Penn Street, and Midtown—while the RN OB/GYN Coordination responsibilities (40%) are housed at and support the Redwood practice specifically. This role supports high-risk obstetric patients, ensures continuity of care, and facilitates multidisciplinary collaboration

  • Essential functions
  • Provide diabetes education for gestational and pre-existing diabetes, including glucose monitoring, medication guidance, and lifestyle counseling across Redwood, Penn Street, and Midtown practices.
  • Offer nutrition counseling in person and via telemedicine as appropriate.
  • Monitor and interpret CGM data, support device setup, troubleshoot issues, and oversee CGM trends for all diabetes patients.
  • Conduct diabetes follow-up in person, via telemedicine, and through the live diabetes roster.
  • Ensure timely coordination and communication with Maternal-Fetal Medicine, endocrinology, and nutrition services.
  • Provide a warm handoff to primary care or endocrinology postpartum for all diabetic patients.
  • Serve as a member of the OB/GYN coordination team housed at Redwood, supporting triage, scheduling workflows, provider documentation needs, and care plan follow-up.
  • Support clinical coordination for the Redwood OB/GYN practice.
  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Active RN license; BSN preferred. 2+ years clinical experience; OB experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with diabetes education, CGM platforms, or nutrition counseling preferred.
  • Strong communication, triage, and patient-teaching skills.
  • Total Rewards The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position.
  • Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.
