The early head start teacher will use the center's indoor and outdoor environments to establish rich learning opportunities that build upon daily routines and support each child's individual development. The teacher must skillfully and intentionally create a bond of care and attention to enable infants and toddlers to learn and develop appropriately, recognizing the importance of every word and action in early development.

Requirements summary

Candidates must possess either an infant/Toddler child development associate (Cda) credential or an associate's or bachelor's degree in early childhood education. Alternatively, an associate's or bachelor's degree in any field is acceptable if the candidate is willing to obtain the emphasis in infant and toddler development certificate, which is provided as a 1-2 week training course.
