Summer Sports Day Camp Counselor

The counselor must act as a professional role model, leading campers through recreational activities that teach life skills, promote safety, and ensure a positive experience while maintaining constant supervision of all youth. Key duties include promoting the ymca, leading various sports and recreational activities, instructing campers using appropriate teaching methods, and ensuring the physical and emotional health and safety of all participants.

Applicants must be at least 16 years old and demonstrate a commitment and passion for working with diverse youth, enjoying the outdoors, and being creative. While experience in camping, childcare, education, or recreation is a plus, it is not required, but excellent verbal communication and the ability to establish constructive relationships are necessary.
