Core responsibilities

The classroom support specialist provides daily half-Day support to assigned head start/Early head start classrooms, focusing on addressing immediate needs, supporting children with challenging behaviors or requiring inclusion, and facilitating teacher planning time. This role involves assisting in implementing program objectives in compliance with head start standards by supporting teaching teams with activities, including full inclusion of children with disabilities and maintaining a safe learning environment.

Requirements summary

Required education includes a minimum of an infant/Toddler or preschool cda credential, with a preference for an associate's degree in early childhood education and specific ece college credits. Candidates must have at least one year of experience in early childhood classrooms and experience serving culturally and linguistically diverse children, with bilingual english/Spanish ability being preferred or required.
