Classroom Support Specialist

The classroom support specialist provides daily support to assigned head start/Early head start classrooms, focusing on addressing immediate needs, supporting children with challenging behaviors or inclusion requirements, and facilitating teacher planning time. This role involves assisting the teaching team in implementing program objectives, curriculum, and ensuring a safe, healthy, and inclusive environment for all children.

Required qualifications include a minimum of either an infant/Toddler or preschool child development associate (Cda) credential, with a plan to achieve both if holding no degree, and a paraprofessional license within six months of hire. Candidates must possess one year of early childhood classroom experience, including experience serving culturally and linguistically diverse children, and knowledge of relevant standards like head start performance standards and creative curriculum.
