Instructional Assistant (School Year 2026-2027)

The instructional assistant teacher supports the classroom teacher academically, focusing on assisting students identified as historically disadvantaged and performing below grade level through various teaching methods and individualized support. Responsibilities also include assisting with lesson preparation, ensuring classroom safety, overseeing students during non-Instructional times, documenting progress, and communicating with parents.

Candidates must meet all qualifications and behavior standards set by the state of maryland authority, including successful completion of the parapro test or a comparable assessment, and possessing a high school diploma or ged. A bachelor's degree is preferred, and a minimum of one year of experience working with children is desired.
